Dr. Lu came from the LCD industry, joined CID Group in 2010. Answering the call from Taiwanese government for the establishment of the LCD industry, Dr. Lu came back to Taiwan from Bell Laboratories in 1995. He was the initiator of the LCD project at Acer Display, which through the merger with Unipac in 2001, and Quanta Display in 2006, became AUO Corporation. Dr. Lu assumed the position of Executive Vice President, and was responsible for AUO’s operations, which included manufacturing, supply chain management, quality assurance, and R&D. Dr. Lu made significant contributions to AUO’s growth during his tenure there. He was the recipient of the Outstanding Contribution Award from Taiwan’s Ministry of Economy in 2003. In 2006, he joined Foxconn and founded the LCD TV Business Division, which grew into Foxconn’s current international LCD-TV operations. Before joining CID group, Dr. Lu served as President & CEO of IVO, a $2B company. Under his stewardship, he re-established organization, ramped up capacity, improved yield, and turned IVO to profitability in 8 months. Dr. Lu currently focuses on applying his technical background and management experience to complement other CID partners and to support CID portfolio companies on their operations.
